Understand the options before taking your next step.

How mutual funds work

A scheme pools investors’ money and invests according to its stated objective. Fund managers make investment decisions; you hold units whose value changes with the portfolio. Read the Scheme Information Document, Statement of Additional Information and Key Information Memorandum.

SIP and lumpsum

A SIP invests a chosen amount regularly; a lumpsum invests a one-time amount. A SIP can support discipline, but does not guarantee profit or protect against falling markets.

Systematic withdrawals

An SWP redeems units periodically. Withdrawals are not guaranteed income or interest and can reduce or exhaust capital.

Categories and risk

Equity, debt and hybrid schemes have different objectives and risks. Debt funds also face credit, liquidity and interest-rate risk. Check the scheme’s current Riskometer, costs, exit loads and documents; category labels alone do not establish suitability.
